What does Matt really do at work? Eternal Skateboards Edition

Recently I have been really excited about everything happening at work and I would like to take the time over the next couple of weeks to explain to you all what that actually means.

To break it down for you, I work for a company called Trinity Distribution, and have been involved in many different areas over the past few years. (Boardstore, the Skateshop and The Woods Indoor Skatepark.) But from now on I am solely working in Trinity Distribution.

Trinity Distribution is 1 of the main skateboard distributions in Australia and is continuing to grow... we import skateboarding products from the US and sell those products to hundreds of skate shops around Australia. This past year I have been promoted to Director of Sales for Trinity which basically means... I do my best to sell everything we get in.
Another branch of what we do, is own and operate different skateboard brands. They are getting more popular all the time in Australia and we hope to expand them to be international!

I would like to start by introducing you to Eternal Skateboards...

We are hoping to do two ranges every year!
Eternal Skateboards originally was owned and operated by Canadian in their homeland! (Holla!) Canadian Maple is the best wood for skateboards and no one has ever disagreed. While the cost of physically pressing the skateboards in Canada is too high and everything is now made in China, they still use Canadian Maple as their premium quality wood.

Eternal skateboards was the first ever product that Trinity Distribution imported and over time Trinity Distribution bought the licencing and it is now owned and operated here in Australia by.......us!

Lately, we have been working really hard to market Eternal Skateboards in Australia for the latest range.
I work closely with our designer Desmond discussing ideas for graphics and then once the graphics are sorted, it is my job to figure out what the sizes & quantities are to order and how we are going to promote them.

I recently came up with the idea to put some extra effort into making a clean and crisp catalogue showing the new range. We are really stoked on the first one and it has really helped to create a hype around the new range of graphics!

All the new Eternal Boards on the racks, ready to be sold to skate shops

But my main job starts when the decks get here! That's when I spend long hours calling shop after shop after shop trying to sell the Eternal Skateboards. It takes time and the bigger the brand is, the easier it is to do my job. It is incredible when new store says 'I've heard of Eternal, Sure, I'll grab a few!' it just means our brands are getting out into the skate world, gets me pretty excited!!

It has been an exciting journey and I'm very privileged to be apart of the process.

But you know what the best part is...

Grabbing one of the new boards and going for a skate!

Until next time,
Matt

A Day at the Australia Zoo

Kelsey had been quite excited to go to the Australia Zoo ever since she moved to the Sunshine Coast. Many fond stories of the Calgary Zoo have been told (We are glad the animals were re-located during the floods) but we had always heard that the zoo here is just as amazing.
So one fine sunny day we decided to go on a journey to introduce ourselves to our neighbours. ....but little did we know that such a vast world of wildlife inhabited a zoo just 25 mins from our houses!

This is what our day looked like

Australia Zoo Entrance
Koalas sleep up to 20 hours a day. I guess they only really need 4 hours to get the important things done.
Kels found some Kangaroos grazing in the park
I had a bit of a graze myself...
Kelsey feeding this big fellow. 'The inside of his trunk is soooo wet!' Kelsey exclaimed
What's the go with this little fur ball? (bottom left corner)
He was heading to have a kip in the leaves
On our way to Africa we smashed some dixie drumsticks and I got my 'tourist jumper waist tie' on. Dad would be proud
These Giraffes were too good for us
But not this Camel. He was all too happy to stop and turn on his charm
This Rhinoceros Iguana was putting some work into his tan all day. Seriously, he didn't move all day...what a life!
Possible scarf accessory?
Kels might stick to her current scarf selection
Have you ever seen an echidna on a log? From now on you can answer 'yes'

Kels and I had a great day and we were quite tuckered out afterwards! We hope to take everyone there eventually, we'd be quite happy to have to go back there again :)

Thanks for listening/looking at our first blog post.
We are hoping to keep this up to date. So we'll see yah soon!
